01

Schedule

First thing we'll do for a chlorination is  come up with a time frame for when the work needs to be done. Scheduling early is always best, but we understand that luxury isn't always present.

02

Plan

We then will come up with a plan of how best to go about chlorinating. We'll discuss the job specifications, requirements etc.

03

Chlorinate

We'll schedule to meet you on site, have a walk around and discuss any last minute hurdles. We've seen just about everything under the sun, so we're very capable of solving things on the spot. We then will pump the system full of chlorinated water.

04

Flush

Following the injection of chlorine and after the necessary amount of time passes, we will flush the system using potable city water and continuously measure the amount of chlorine in the system. As soon as we see that the amount of chlorine in the system is the amount that is normally in city water, the flush is complete.

05

Sample

After the flush is complete, we'll take water samples at a number of locations  to have them tested by an independent and state certified laboratory to ensure that all harmful bacteria has been killed.

06

Follow Up

After we drop the samples off at the lab, it takes 24 hours to receive the verbal results and7 days to receive the written report. We'll call with the verbal results  and forward the written report via email as soon as we receive them.

FAQs

-It is necessary because the building materials that plumbing companies install for water service are not clean or sanitary. A chlorination is meant to sanitze the plumbing lines that contractors have installed so that they are safe to drink out of.

How long does a chlorination take?

-Short answer : Usually is a two day process, a few hours each day.

-Long Answer: There are a number of factors that determine how long it takes. The two biggest factors are:

1) What does the job specification call for? Typically the chlorine has to stay in the system at an extremely high concentration for 3 hours or a much lower concentration for 24 hours. The job specifications will tell us which options are acceptable.

2) The scope of work. How big is the building/job site etc.? The larger the project, the longer it takes to get everything charged up with chlorine, and the longer it takes to flush the chlorine out of the system.
